Comfortable layers are required to survive Chicago winters. Not only are the temperatures cold but the wind is worse so I rely on separates to keep me warm when i’m running around outdoors. Lately I’ve been drawn to neutrals. Having a few neutral essentials on hand can always maximize the number of outfits options in my closet. I usually only have a few minutes to get ready so it’s important that I don’t have to think about looks too much and this outfit is the definition of comfort and style thanks to a few staples in my closet.
A few more neutral staples: a camel coat, ballet flats, a navy blazer (seen here), a white blouse and an easy shirtdress.
