My most recent story for Refinery 29’s My Stylist was all about entertaining at home, specifically hosting a wine and cheese party for friends. I have always loved playing the hostess with the most-est roll and this time of year I especially get the entertaining itch. Our apartment is very small and because we do not have room in our place for a dining room table, we typically create spreads across our kitchen counter or more casually around our coffee table. Since a wine and cheese party seems to be a bit more intimate, I prefer to use our coffee table so our guests can sit in close quarters and chat, sip, and nibble on a mix of sweet and savory treats. Instead of using a full table cloth, I opted for a floral scarf to dress up our table and then chose plates and cake stands in variating heights. I loved the mix of pattern and print thanks to some ikat napkins from TJ Maxx and my C.Wonder bowls, plus some small floral arrangements and warm light from Illume candles. The perfect setting for entertaining in a small space!
