If you’re shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale then make sure you refer to this post that shares all the dates of when you are able to shop based on your cardholder status! I was able to pop into the store yesterday and although I don’t think my content is going to be as thought out and extensive as past years (see previous posts and fall outfit inspo from past Nordstrom Sales here!), I did want to share a few items that I loved.
I think it’s important (every season!) to go through your clothes to determine what you actually need. I think a huge part of why this sale is so exciting is because it’s NEW fall styles ON SALE for a brief period of time before going up to full price. That excitement also makes it a little crazy and people tend to buy, buy, buy without actually knowing what they need. I’ve found myself using this sale as a time to invest in bigger ticket items (think coats and cashmere sweaters) but also surveying my fall/winter wardrobe to fill in the gaps where needed.
Here is what I picked up in store yesterday…
Shop this look: Nordstrom Moonlight Dream Pajamas (wearing a small)
First up, these pajamas are my favorite. I stock up on multiple colors for the winter (and also they make the best gifts!!). An easy way to feel cuter in the mornings. Also, these are a must-have for new moms. I LIVED in these when I was pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding—all the things. A great gift for new moms or moms to be in your life but also I give these to every woman in my life for Christmas. I’m wearing a small and you can see they have lots of extra room which is nice. Sale price: $39.90, originally $65!
*also comes in this short version and this short sleeve pant version!
Shop this look: Honeydew All American Pajamas (wearing a small)
I also saw this cute set online and rushed to grab them in stores! The top has almost a crop feel but not too cropped and the pants are high waisted and fit just right. The fabric is so soft and since you can never have enough pajamas I love the neutral combo of this stripe. I’m wearing a small. Sale price: $29.90, originally $48!
Shop this look: B.P. All Day Tee (wearing a small), Kut from the Kloth Donna Button Fly Skinny Jeans (true to size)
Basics were your number one most requested items and I was on the hunt for a good pair of skinny jeans under $60 and stumbled upon this easy layering tee that I ended up loving and ordering in 2 more colors online! I love that the tee is a little longer and the scoop neck is such a flattering shape. Great for a growing bump but also easy to wear under sweaters, fall jackets, cardigans, tucked into anything and more. Trust me that this tee is a good one! Also stumbled upon these button fly jeans (showing more of them in IG stories today) with a ram hem that fit great, have good stretch but don’t bunch at the crotch which is my biggest pet peeve. A great style for fall!
I’m wearing a small in the B.P. All Day Tee. Sale price: $11.90, originally $19.
True to size in the Kut from the Kloth Donna Button Fly Skinny Jeans, I’m wearing a size 4. Sale price: $58.90, originally $89.50.
Shop this look: Topshop Bodysuit (wearing a US 6), Good American Good Waist Cropped jeans (I usually size down one size in GA, lots of stretch!), leopard loafers from last year’s sale but similar styles here, here and here!
One of my favorite finds was this Topshop bodysuit that I missed online but loved in stores! It is the softest, stretchy, ribbed fabric and is so flattering to the body. It’s a little tight on my bump but I would say it fits true to size and I love the scoop neck and long sleeve. It’s also full coverage on the booty so not uncomfortable thong up your butt. These Good American Good Waist Cropped Jeans were a pair that I was most excited to see included in this year’s sale! This is my third pair of Good American jeans and they are the best stretch but never seem to bag out. I love the high waist. I’m 5’4″ for reference on this crop style (fits more like an ankle) but they also have this style and this style in the sale!
Topshop Bodysuit, wearing a US 6. Sale price: $15.90, originally $25.
Good American Good Waist Cropped jeans, wearing a 4 (I usually size down in these, lots of stretch!). Sale price: $98.90, originally $149.
*my leopard mules are from last year’s sale but similar styles this year are here, here and here!
Shop this look: Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Tunic Sweater (wearing an XS), Good American Good Waist Cropped jeans (I usually size down one size in GA, lots of stretch!)
One of my favorite areas to invest during the sale is cashmere sweaters. I LIVE in sweaters all fall/winter and because of this my sweaters are usually put to the test. I’ve realized over the years of shopping this sale that buying 4 different trendy, $40 sweaters that only hold up for a few good wears is just isn’t worth it for me anymore. I’d rather invest in a classic, cashmere sweater that I know will hold up for seasons to come. I love this Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Tunic Sweater, maybe because I have a growing bump but it’s the prettiest, slim shape and dusty rose color for fall.
Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Tunic Sweater, wearing an XS. Sale price: $149.90, originally $279.
Shop this look: Nordstrom Signature Funnel Neck Cashmere Tunic (wearing an XS), Good American Good Waist Cropped jeans, Clare V Leopard Print Suede Tote
Ok this combo may be my favorite BUT I have been on the hunt for a work tote/mom life tote for fall and was so excited to get my hands on this Clare V leopard beauty! I love the stripe contrasting shoulder strap, it is suede (so not actually calf hair) which makes me feel like it will hold up better to the elements of daily life. It’s just a really great shape and love only the two tone leopard print. It also comes in this pretty green color which I was actually torn on because I love the neutral-ness of that, too. It also comes in this cute crossbody style. Paired with another investment sweater that I love – Nordstrom Signature Funnel Neck Cashmere Tunic. I’m branching out from my typical creamy neutrals and this green color is so perfect for fall. Again, super slimming, love the length and the fabric isn’t too bulky.
Nordstrom Signature Funnel Neck Cashmere Tunic, wearing an XS. Sale price: $178.90, originally $299!
Ok so a few more things to note, since so many of you stock up on booties during this sale I wanted to share my two favorites that I did not try on but this is strictly from a brand perspective, knowing that they are a great fit and I love the color options and overall look! If I were personally shopping for booties, I’d go for either of these styles:
Steve Madden Kaylah Pointed Toe Bootie. Sale price: $89.90, originally $134.95.
Marc Fisher Oshay Pointed Toe Bootie. Sale price: $99.90, originally $189.95.
One more item that is one of my all time most loved bras – the Natori Feathers Underwire Contour Bra. It is just an overall great fit, so soft and comfortable, look beautiful under clothing and makes your boobs look smooth and nice and perky. I already ordered the blue color because I personally own in nude, black and pink! Sale price: $39.90, originally $68.
So that’s it! Short and sweet for this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I did order a few more items: these high waisted skinny jeans (wanted to see what they were like for the price!), these maternity ankle leggings, this cardigan coat, this Barbour coat, this Patagonia Better Sweaters for Charlie, these cute Hunter Boots for both boys and these sneakers for both boys. Other than that, I’m going to call it a sale! I’ll share the goods on the other items I purchased once they arrive but otherwise I feel pretty good about what I snagged for my own wardrobe.
If you’re looking for more suggestions on what I like but may not personally need, then refer to this post! I’ll also be sharing a little try on of all of these pieces in my Instagram stories today!
