Charlie’s room is the one room that hadn’t seen an upgrade since we moved from the city two years ago. He is my little creature of comfort and probably would have been happy living in his toddler bed forever. But over the past few months I’ve noticed him say “mommy, I want a big bed” so I knew it was time to start thinking about his big boy room! When Crate and Kids reached out to us about working on a room in our home, I knew that Charlie’s bedroom would be the perfect space. We have long loved Crate and Kids’ furniture (we have had this dresser in Charlie’s room since we moved, this is his crib and this dresser is in Jack’s room!) but I wanted this space to feel less like a toddler room and more like a space that I know he AND Jack will love down the road.

The process of working with Crate and Kids was a dream. I showed them a few items that I liked and they created three design boards for me to choose from, adding accessories and other details (including pieces we already owned) that I would have never thought to put together. They really reinvented the space for us and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

I have always dreamed of Charlie and Jack sharing a room so I thought it would be fun to do bunk beds and loved the Wrightwood Grey Stain Bunk Bed (which can actually turn into two twin beds down the road – so genius)! The color feels masculine but also very fresh and light. We added this chambray blue bedding which I LOVE paired withe these cute plush sign sheets that compliment our rug. I knew I wanted a soft rug and the Shag Plus Sign Rug adds a fun contrast but also a plush place to play! It truly makes the entire space. We love reading books with the boys before bedtime and wanted a chair that would only get better as the years go on. I am a big fan of adding different textures to a room and had my heart set on a leather chair for the boys. The Trevor Leather Chair from Crate and Barrel is the perfect addition, especially for a smaller space. I love the rich color and it is so incredibly comfortable! Maybe my favorite detail of the room.

Charlie’s reaction to his new room was the sweetest thing in the world. He was so excited to see his bunk beds and read books in his new chair. The Crate and Kids team made the room look and feel so special with so many things that we already had and loved. They were also the cutest and coolest group of girls. I love that it still feels like the same room we brought Charlie home from the hospital to but a just a little bit more mature for my growing baby boy.

Do you guys enjoy seeing corners of our home? What space would you like to see next?!

A huge thank you to Crate and Kids for collaborating on the project!
