Last year we gave our tiny little kitchen a face lift. Our home is 92 years old and we aren’t sure if this is our forever home so we wanted to update the space without totally altering the layout. A simple fix if you will! We removed some cabinets, added new cabinets, added a hood over the oven, new sink, new faucet, open shelving on one wall, new tile flooring, new countertops and new backsplash. The home itself is very traditional so I wanted to keep that farmhouse feel within this space, too.
I’m always getting questions about where things are from so I thought I’d lay it all out in this post so you can refer to them later! We love everything we chose! The only issue we are having is with our kitchen floors (which we love the tile!). The grout keeps cracking due to shifting original wood floors beneath the cement flooring underneath the tile. Our hope was to restore the original wood floors but they were in really rough shape after 3 sets of linoleum tile were stapled on top. We have someone coming to fix the issue (again) and hoping it is resolved! Something to note, I’m constantly asked about the dark floors showing dirt and since ours are a distressed charcoal rather than stark black, you really don’t see dirt!
