I’m not one to shy away from statement pieces and since our calendar is a little more relaxed this year, I’m opting to make even casual looks feel festive for daytime meetings, date nights with Dave and Charlie or weeknight cocktail parties. I’m a firm believer in pairing classic basics with something bold (examples here and here) and this year I’m loving the juxtaposition of a cozy knit sweater paired with a sequin mini skirt. The texture is amazing but still comfortable enough to not feel like you’re going overboard. I paired this look with my Stuart Weitzman OTK Lowland boots, which I have to say are kind of my new favorite thing. After trying them on at Trunk Club Women (and telling the stylist that they would never look good on me because my legs are too short and bulky), I decided that they needed to come live with me. They actually seem to elongate my legs and I love that they are flat which makes them comfortable enough for long days.
Nordstrom‘s Holiday Party Shop is filled with items that are perfect for any upcoming holiday festivities. I bought these sequin pants to pair with my turtleneck sweater for Christmas Eve (I love that it is monochromatic) and this sequin top would be perfect paired with distressed black denim and fabulous heels for NYE.
What are your plans for the holidays? Do you have any outfits you’re excited about?
